BackWith the so-called Draghi Report on the future of competitiveness, the second policy document for EU policy over the next five years was published in September 2024 - after the Letta Report on the EU Single Market. From an employee perspective, Draghi's recommendations alternate between light and shade.
While an EU industrial strategy and an investment offensive are to be welcomed in principle, the report also contains points that could have a negative impact on employees and consumers, such as excessive targets for cutting red tape. Finally, it should also be noted that there is a lack of solutions in some areas, such as fiscal policy and energy policy.
AK calls for the interests of all to be taken into account in the course of improving EU competitiveness and for no one to be left behind. In addition, the social partnership should be actively involved in the work on competitiveness.
