BackThe report presented by Enrico Letta covers a wide range of topics related to the internal market. AK welcomes the presentation of the report as a basis for a more in-depth discussion on the future of the internal market. However, AK takes a very critical view of many of the proposed measures or even rejects them outright. AK strongly opposes the attempt to undermine important social, labour law and socio-political standards using terms such as "bureaucracy" or "gold plating". Overall, it is noticeable that the proposals focus very strongly on the corporate side.
In contrast, however, the interests of employees must be placed at the centre of policy. These are the ones that implement the green and digital transitions and ensure the sustainable competitiveness of the economy. AK is calling for the creation of a fifth fundamental freedom that relates to the social progress protocol and the fight against wage and social dumping.
