BackThe study critically assesses the official Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) on the further liberalisation trade in services (TiSA) highlighting its methodological flaw and one-sided understanding of regulation. By understanding regulation only as costs to businesses, the impact of deregulation on society and workers is widely neglected resulting in a biased basis for decision-making. However, sustaining public policy space and flexibility are essential for effective regulation for public policy objectives.
