BackDisadvantages for consumers in case of a repeal of the rules on nominal quantities
In a letter to the MEPs of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection the AK draws their attention to disadvantages for consumers in case of a repeal of rules on nominal quantities for pre-packed products. For many consumers disorientation on the current price level would be increased. Moreover the liberalisation infringes the need to create transparent markets for consumers. The AK calls for a gradual harmonisation and further standardisation of nominal quantities to establish a better transparency for consumers. Furthermore, a solution for the problem of dummy packages (any package form pretending to have a higher filling volume due to its outward appearance) should be found.
