On 13 March, the Finance Ministers of the EU states will discuss the possibility of introducing an EU Financial Transaction Tax. The campaign for the urgently needed EU-wide Financial Transaction Tax organised by the Chamber of Labour (AK) and the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB) - in cooperation with a broad alliance of European organisations - now enters its decisive phase. Now we once again need your support: if you go to www.financialtransactiontax.eu you can send an email directly to the EU Finance Ministers, asking them to support the introduction of an EU Financial Transaction Tax!
Join us in ensuring that the speculators who have caused the financial crisis are made to foot the bill. The financial sector must make a fair contribution to the distribution of the costs of the crisis, to ensure that the austerity policy at the expense of the employees in Europe is not continued.

The Financial Transaction Tax generates additional revenue for budgets, which can be used for urgently required measures, such as combating youth unemployment, and which in combination with regulating the financial markets will stabilise the financial sector.
