BackOn 19 February, the Brussels Office of the Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK EUROPA) organised the event "EU Job Guarantee. Right to decent work for all?"
In the course of the common labour market policies of the last few years, the Member States of the EU have not been able to reduce long-term unemployment. This has serious consequences for those who suffer from it as well as for society and the economy. Can an EU job guarantee help to achieve full employment? How can public employment programmes help to reduce long-term unemployment and poverty, stabilise the economy and contribute to a fair green and digital transition? Should the EU provide the financial means to help Member States fund public employment projects? During the event, these questions were discussed and the results of recent research and various projects were presented.
