The instability of the European and global financial markets has a severe impact on theEuropean workers and taxpayers. Therefore, AK closely follows the regulatory efforts ofthe European Commission and the European Parliament.

However, a critical review of the present draft amendments of the Economic Committee,<br />AK leaps to the conclusion that the rapporteur did not even pretend to capture the most<br />urgent problems within the financial markets. Instead, the 216 draft amendments mainly<br />deal with procedural details.
