BackThe AK appreciates this opportunity to express its views on issues pertaining to bank accounts, a major financial service product, as part of this consultation process. We hope the EuropeanCommission will pick up our ideas and suggestions.
To start with, we believe the right to a basic account must be guaranteed in EU law from the standpoint of consumers. The recommendation from 2011 has not noticeably changed the situation in Austria.
