ZurückDespite all efforts to diminish the Gender Pay Gap, it has been utterly persistent and was still almost 15% in the EU 28 in 2018 – in some member states even more than 20%. As part of the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025, the European Commission has finally announced binding measures on pay transparency in fall 2020. As highlighted in this Policy Brief, binding measures are urgently needed since a lack of transparency is one of the biggest obstacles to equal pay for equal and equivalent work. Given the complexity of underlying factors responsible for the Gender Pay Gap, subsequently jeopardizing gender equality, the AK demands accessible information available to all employees and binding reporting duties.
