The Brussels Office of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour (AK EUROPA), the Brussels Office of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB Europabüro), the European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) are pleased to invite you to the following event.
The ‘One-In-One-Out’ principle was again included in the European Commission Better Regulation Communication last year. What is it about? According to this principle, "burdens" in existing law are to be removed to the same extent as new "burdens" or laws are introduced.
From the point of view of employees and consumers, this principle could call into question important labour, consumer protection, and socio-political standards. In addition, there is a threat of a standstill in these policy areas, which could block progressive legislation.
In the coming weeks, the European Parliament will be discussing the Better Regulation Communication and the strengthening of the One-In-One-Out principle. Join our webinar to hear about a new study on the One-In-One-Out principle by Prof. Franz Leidenmühler from the University of Linz, Austria. The presentation will be followed by a discussion with officials from the European Parliament, European Commission, as well as representatives of workers and consumers.
