BackAs part of the mid-term review of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the European Commission has put forward a number of proposals to ensure that the budget can continue to fulfil its key tasks in the face of rising costs. These include support for Ukraine, promoting strategic technologies, implementing the Pact on Migration and Asylum and covering unforeseen expenditure.
However, there are no plans to increase funding for key social policy programs. In the AK's view, this would be necessary because many households are threatened by poverty and suffer from inflation. The European Social Fund Plus, the Just Transition Fund and the Climate Social Fund should be significantly increased. The social partners must also be fully involved in the newly created Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP). Other demands relate to the Common Agricultural Policy, respect for labour and social standards and new sources of own resources.
