On time for the start of the holiday season, the Commission is starting a campaign on passenger rights. Whether travelling by plane, rail, bus or ship: passengers have certain rights in respect of irregularities such as delays or lost luggage. However, according to the Commission two thirds of all travellers are unfortunately not aware, which rights they are able to assert on their travels.
The information campaign of the Commission will last two years. Posters at airports, harbours, railway stations or bus stations as well as online information in all EU languages shall provide details on passenger rights. Apart from that, the Commission would like to ensure that passengers with disabilities will be able to enjoy the same opportunities to travel. This group in particular shall be informed of their rights.
