BackNext week, AK EUROPA and the European Office of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB) together with ALTER-EU (Alliance for Lobbying Transparency in the EU) will launch their joint Europe-wide campaign “Politics for People”.
Stand up against excessive lobbying from banks and big business in Europe!
With the support of a broad alliance of civil society organisations from all over Europe, candidates for the European Parliament elections in May 2014 are asked to campaign for citizens and democracy and against the excessive lobbying influence from banks and big business in Europe.
Already before the official go-ahead our Europe-wide campaign has attracted the support of leading members of the current European Parliament from several political families. (Their names will be announced at the official launch.)

Going to the campaign website www.politicsforpeople.eu, citizens have the opportunity of directly contacting the candidates for the European Parliament elections and ask them to make a key promise should they be elected:
To support citizens and democracy and campaign against the excessive influence of banks and big business in Europe!
Visiting the homepage, one can see at a glance which EP candidates have already made their promise and whose is still outstanding. The homepage also shows examples for the lobbying power of big business and banks, which have a negative influence on the every-day life of EU citizens.
