BackThe Brussels offices of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB EU Office) and the Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK EUROPA) warmly invite you to the event “Made in Europe” – Opportunities and Challenges for the Single Market.
The European industry stands at a crossroads. Rising geopolitical tensions led i. a. to trade wars. At the same time, we still face the major task of mastering the green and digital transition. One reaction to these challenges are increased calls for local content requirements in the allocation of subsidies and in public procurement procedures to protect industrial production in Europe. From a labour perspective, we support the introduction of local content requirements, but we also identify some challenges. At our event, we want to discuss how we can use local content not only to promote European value-added but also to preserve and to create high-quality jobs in European industries.
