BackIn a letter dated 30 November 2010, Mikołaj Dowgielewicz, Polish State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, asked the European Economic and Social Committee, on behalf of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, to draw up an opinion on: The future of the labour market in Europe – in search of an effective response to demographic trends.
The Section for Employment, Social Affairs and Citizenship, which was responsible for preparing the Committee's work on the subject, adopted its opinion on 27 June 2011.<br /><br />At its 473rd plenary session, held on 13 and 14 July 2011 (meeting of 13 July), the European Economic and Social Committee adopted the following opinion with 120 votes in favour and 11 abstentions.
