The market power of big internet companies is constantly increasing. The internet companies - Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. - have in common that they earn their money mainly with the collection and commercialization of personal user data. Due to their enormous financial strength, they are constantly investing in new business areas and continuously expanding their market power. After heavy fines by the competition authorities, the question is no longer whether - but how they should be regulated.

After the presentation of the study by Leonhard Plank "Internet platforms as infrastructures of the digital age" we want discuss – amongst others – the following questions: What solutions are needed at the European level to regulate platforms? Do we need new instruments in competition policy?
